McKenzie Luxmore
McKenzie began her career as an Emergency Department nurse, triaging and prioritizing patients in critical need. Her interest in research led her to the Duke University Huntington’s Disease Center of Excellence, where she coordinated clinical trials with Dr. Burton Scott. McKenzie quickly developed clinical expertise and a life-long passion for caring for HD patients and families. She is a very active member of the HD community, participating in patient advocacy work, fundraising for research and social support, and working with students in North Carolina to train the next generation of HD advocates. McKenzie now works at the Huntington Study Group as a Senior Clinical Project Manager on HD clinical trials. In her free time, McKenzie enjoys time with her family and pets, cooking, and traveling near and far. She is excited to continue her work with the HD community in this role.
