Eastern North Carolina’s Premier Paddle Sport Event
The Bear Town Paddle Battles return on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Lawson Creek Park in New Bern, NC!
Founded in 2021, this premier paddle sport event brings together racers and recreational paddlers to enjoy a day on the water while supporting an exceptional cause. The event has raised over $35,000 to help those in our communities impacted by neurodegenerative diseases.
The 2026 event will benefit HD Reach, supporting their mission to help North Carolinians live well with Huntington’s Disease.
Race, fun paddle, group paddle, or relax in the park—there’s something for everyone. We can’t wait to see you on the water!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in July 2025 in beautiful New Bern. With 56 paddlers on the water, it was a fantastic day of community, competition, and support for HD Reach. Special thanks to Ron for capturing the day through photos.
